Scarlet Sage is a heavy bloomer that has long spikes of red flowers during any time of the year that its warm enough. It prolifically self-seeds. To maximize flowering and prevent overgrowth, you can prune it back periodically. It is not edible. Many pollinators are attracted to it, including butterflies and hummingbirds.
It makes a decent cut flower, and can be added to potpourri.
