Job Summary:

Sandhills Native Nursery is located out of Fountain, Florida and is looking for new landscape team members interested in expanding wildlife habitat to a variety of job locations. We are a full service business, offering delivery, installation, and maintenance of our custom landscape designs. We are a young business with ample room for growth.

Essential Duties:

• Proper planting and management of landscapes
• Responsible for the use of small tools and referring any supplies and/or issues to the head of maintenance.

Job Description:

• Seasonal business with the bulk of hours present during March-October.
• Weekly hours range from 20-30 hours during our busy months.
• Pay starts at $17.50 with a max of $30. Raises are assessed annually during the off season based on quality of work, attendance, knowledge, etc.
• Work with other members of the landscape crew in a variety of weather conditions (may often work outside in the heat of the summer)
• Tasks can include but not limited to: planting, weeding, mulching, lawn services, sod removal, and stump grinding.

Requirements: 

• Education & Experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Experience driving a truck a trailer of at least 6 months with the ability to pass an in-house truck/trailer driving test (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge and/or interest in Florida native plants (highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of garden and landscaping tools/techniques
  • Landscape experience a bonus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Interest in and willingness to learn about Florida native plants and animals in the NWFL area.
• Knowledge of the use and maintenance of gardening equipment
• Ability to make and keep working relationships
• Ability to interpret and follow instruction with minimal supervision
  • Ability to stay motivated, on task, and think through potential problems critically
  • Ability to work outside for long periods of time performing strenuous tasks in the state of Florida.
  • Ability to provide superior communication to team members and clients when necessary

Working Conditions:

• Working outside in Florida weather year-round
• Continual prolong periods of standing, bending, lifting, and squatting
• Continuous communication between clients, owners, and other employees
• Availability from Tuesday – Friday is required
• Have your own means of transportation to and from the nursery
