This Florida endangered species thrives in moist habitats and can form dense colonies. It attracts many pollinators and butterflies with its yellow fall blooms. It is the larval host for the southern emerald moth, sunflower bud moth, and the common tan wave moth.
This endangered species of tickseed is one of our Florida State Wildflower species, and maintains its color well after drying and pressing. It’s endemic to Florida, specifically along the Chipola River.
