AKA: Forked Bluecurl, Common Blue-curls

A herbaceous to woody annual in most habitats; it occasionally goes dormant in winter and leafs back out in spring (this is typically along the coast). It also readily self-seeds each year, so the species will persist in your yard even if the original plant dies off.

It is a fragrant addition to wildflower gardens, producing many short-lived blue flowers. Bluecurls bloom in the late summer to the early fall. It attracts various pollinators, and especially native bees. Documented bee species include Caupolicana electa and  Dialictus placidensis.
