AKA: Pitcher Sage, Azure Sage, Azure Blue Sage

Blue Sage blooms in late summer to fall with spikes of blue flowers. To encourage new blooms during this phase, you can deadhead it. It can also be pruned back occasionally to promote a more compact growth habit. It is a nectar source for native bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. It is also the larval host plant for bilobed looper moths, and wandering tiger moths.

Medicinally, it was used as a top-rate wound and burn remedy. It’s also great for toothaches and gum disease, anti-anxiety and anti-depressant, cooling and assisting with hot flashes and hormonal imbalances, it also calms upset tummies, and works on many headaches and migraines.
