This species of violet blooms from late winter to early spring with delicate white flowers. Unlike the blue or purple violets, this species is not edible. It is winter dormant but will start to grow back once it starts to get warm again.

It colonizes densely via runners and rhizomes, so it should be planted somewhere where this is not a problem.
