AKA: Golden Aster, Narrowleaf Silkgrass

Evergreen flower that gives a silver-green grass appearance during the winter. Attracts 30+ species of bees and butterflies. with its late summer blooming yellow flowers. It can spread into a small mat, but does not require pruning. Its foliage dries into a silvery color that can be an attractive addition to art and floral work.

Tribes from what is now the Florida Panhandle use it to treat boils, infected cuts, fevers, gouts, ground itch, and rheumatism. Seminoles use an infusion of the plants for cold and fevers; Alice Snow (member of Seminole, 2011) recorded its use for headaches.
